JULIAN RODRIGO A. DELA CRUZ
Mr. Dela Cruz is a partner of the Firm primarily engaged in litigation, handling all stages of civil, commercial, administrative, and labor disputes, as well as criminal prosecution and defense. He has appeared before trial courts of all levels, including quasi-judicial bodies such as the Department of Justice, the Office of the Ombudsman, the National Labor Relations Commission, and the National Conciliation and Mediation Board. He has also represented clients before the Sandiganbayan, Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court.
Mr. Dela Cruz provides advice and legal counseling for various retainer clients, which includes consultation on legal requirements in the ordinary course of business; contract preparation, documentation, and review; drafting of legal opinions and memoranda; advice on pertinent laws, rules, and regulations affecting client activities; and regulatory compliance.Â
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Dela Cruz earned his stripes as a legal intern and associate lawyer at The Law Firm of Diaz Del Rosario and Associates. He also worked as consultant in the House of Representatives, handling legal, political, and youth-related matters as well as inter- and intra-parliamentary coordination for a party-list representative of the education sector.
Mr. Dela Cruz obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of the Philippines–Diliman School of Economics, where he involved himself in campus politics as campaign manager and executive committee member of a leading student political formation. He finished his first two years of law studies at the University of the Philippines College of Law, where he served as Illustrious Fellow of the Upsilon Sigma Phi Fraternity, before transferring to and graduating with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the San Beda College Alabang School of Law. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2015.
In 2018, Mr. Dela Cruz earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., pursuing the general studies program with a focus on Constitutional Law and Government, Law and Economics, and International Arbitration.
After graduating from Georgetown Law, Mr. Dela Cruz served as deputy director for government affairs of the National Diversity Coalition, a U.S. non-profit organization that advocates for low-income and minority communities at the federal and state level on a range of issues such as affordable housing, access to capital, and small business and job creation.
